چکیده

This study of corrections to the canonical picture of black hole decay in large extra dimensions examines the effects of back-reaction corrected and microcanonical emission at the LHC. Provided new heavy particles of mass near the fundamental Planck scale are not discovered, differences between these corrections and thermal decay will be insignificant at the LHC

Missing energy in black hole production and decay at the Large Hadron Collider

Black holes could be produced at the Large Hadron Collider in TeV-scale gravity scenarios. We discuss missing energy mechanisms in black hole production and decay in large extra-dimensional models. In particular, we examine how graviton emission into the bulk could give the black hole enough recoil to leave the brane. Such a perturbation would cause an abrupt termination in Hawking emission and...

Catfish: A Monte Carlo simulator for black holes at the LHC

We present a new Fortran Monte Carlo generator to simulate black hole events at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. The generator interfaces to the PYTHIA Monte Carlo fragmentation code. The physics of the BH generator includes, but not limited to, inelasticity effects, exact field emissivities, corrections to semiclassical black hole evaporation and gravitational energy loss at formation. These feat...

Exploring Higher Dimensional Black Holes at the Large Hadron Collider

In some extra dimension theories with a TeV fundamental Planck scale, black holes could be produced in future collider experiments. Although cross sections can be large, measuring the model parameters is difficult due to the many theoretical uncertainties. Here we discuss those uncertainties and then we study the experimental characteristics of black hole production and decay at a typical detec...

Anisotropic scalar field emission from TeV scale black hole

Black holes are predicted to be copiously produced at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in the scenarios of TeV scale gravity. We report recent progress in studying decay of such a higher dimensional black hole in D = 4 + n dimensions through the Hawking radiation into brane localized fields taking into account its angular momentum which is indispensable for realistic simulations. Presented is the...
